Of many summer flowers, one which stands stately tall,
Is the impressive Lily, which can out bloom them all.
Displaying vivid colors, of every shape and size.
The beauty of her blooms, favors the gardener's eyes.

Along with the Peony, her perfume saturates the breeze;
A picture of perfection, against a symphony of trees,
Never fails to keep her annual rendezvous,
Or unveil her charms, of every dazzling hue!

Another summer visitor, that travelers often behold,
Is her charming country cousin, with blooms of burnished gold!
Brightening up the hedgerows, as does the Lilac in spring,
The Day Lily embodies, midsummer's festive fling!

While for some the pure white Lily, plays a vital part
In portraying sad sentiments, that dwell within their heart!
At times of grievous loss, and Easter tide as well,
Her somber demeanor, attends the mourning bell!

The Lily stands in solitude to show herself at best,
For she remains quite singular; outstanding of the rest!
Complimenting the garden, she's sought by many folks.
For the peerless pleasure her scented beauty invokes.
